Young students ignore New Zealand from options

Young students seeking to study overseas are shunning New Zealand from their options amid the country’s high fees and cost of living, a study found.

Melbourne-based QS Enrolment Solutions, in a report released this month, said that it found only 25 percent of 77,000 students inquiring about New Zealand universities to be interested, whereas 50 percent are more into Australian universities.

More ‘Welcome Desks’ planned for foreign students in Perth Airport

StudyPerth, a West Australia-based education association, is expanding its Welcome Desk stations at Perth Airport this year in efforts to give foreign students in Perth a more welcoming greeting.

StudyPerth Executive Director Phil Payne said that the association will set up new service desks at terminals 3 and 4 at the said airport, where it expects to welcome 13,000 international students by 2020.
