Canada and Philippines have registered a sharp growth in the number of Japanese students enrolling to study abroad in the countries’ institutions, finds a study by agents.

The Japan Association of Overseas Studies (JAOS) surveyed 42 member agencies in 2019 to determine the number of Japanese students studying abroad.

Results indicate that there has been an overall increase in the number of students studying abroad from 78,110 students in 2017 to 80,565 students in 2018.
