LSBU opens information point for new Croydon campus
London South Bank University (LSBU) has opened an information point for its new Croydon campus in South London.
At the information point location near East Croydon railway station, LSBU plans to have staff in place to answer questions from potential students, as well as local residents and businesses, regarding the institution’s newest campus.
The new office is located on Caithness Walk, and staff from LSBU will be there to answer any questions from 10-6, Monday to Saturday.
Earlier this year, we reported on the plans that LSBU had to develop its new campus in Croydon. We outlined the partnership that was agreed upon between the university and the Croydon Council, in order to work towards establishing a campus that would boost the borough’s regeneration and career prospects for Croydon’s 93,000 under-18 year olds.
LSBU currently trains a quarter of London’s nurses
With over 3,500 nursing and health and social care students, LSBU says it currently trains a quarter of London’s nurses.
LSBU’s Croydon campus will continue to offer state-of-the art training to future NHS nurses, with simulated wards to replicate real-life scenarios, a chiropractic clinic that will be made accessible to the local population, health labs, and a business enterprise zone.
The LSBF Croydon campus courses on offer to students will include BSc Adult Nursing, BSc Mental Health Nursing, an Integrated Chiropractic Masters, alongside a BA in Business Management, BA in Accounting and Finance, and a BA course in Accounting and Finance.
LSBU Croydon campus has received a ‘huge number of enquiries’
Professor Patrick Bailey, Provost of LSBU, has reiterated that the information point is open for enquiries, and that staff will be happy to provide answers to any questions that the public may have.
“We’ve already had a huge number of enquiries from people who want to study at our new LSBU Croydon university campus which opens next year. Our team will be delighted to answer your questions about the university, from our cutting-edge health and business courses to our new state-of-the-art campus.
“Applications for LSBU Croydon courses in 2021 are already open. Staff at our information point will be able to answer any questions from potential students, residents and businesses about the new campus in Croydon. LSBU Croydon will provide students with a personalised and practical education to set them up for successful careers.”
Councillor Alisa Flemming, the cabinet member for children, young people and learning, expressed her anticipation for the new institution:
“As a council we are very excited about the arrival of LSBU Croydon next year and see it as the next step in the borough’s regeneration with the town centre developing as a global centre of excellence in higher education.
“The new information point is a great opportunity for all those who live and work in Croydon to find out more about what’s in store.”
