New Chicago Booth London Campus to open

New Chicago Booth London Campus to open

The University of Chicago Booth School of Business will soon open its new campus in central London near St Paul’s Cathedral.

The American business school announced this month that its new campus is set to open doors to students during its virtual “CSR Revisited” conference.

The new Chicago Booth London campus situated at One Bartholomew Close near St Paul’s Cathedral in central London will replace the current campus at 25 Basinghall Street, and will be the school’s base of operations in the EMEA region.

A statement from the school has said that, from the new campus, Chicago Booth will continue to deliver its Executive MBA (EMBA) program and non-degree executive education classes, conferences and seminars.

Chicago Booth recognises London as a key business hub

The school revealed that it is committed to having a presence in the regions and cities that play a central role in shaping the global economy, and London would remain a key hub for its operations.

Commenting on the development, Randall Kroszner, Deputy Dean for Executive Programs at Chicago Booth, remarked: “We are delighted that our new address puts us at the heart of London’s vibrant business community.

“From One Bartholomew Close, we will have businesses ranging from finance and professional services to technology start-ups and entrepreneurs on our doorstep. I can’t imagine a better home for Chicago Booth in Europe.”

Despite the challenging economic climate, Chicago Booth said it recognises London as the go-to place to do business in Europe and home to some of the most established and innovative businesses in the world.

The new London campus demonstrates Chicago Booth’s ongoing commitment to the city as a place to invest and build its presence in, the school said.

New campus not yet open to visitors

Currently, Booth Executive MBA classes are being offered online globally due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The school said it has created a COVID-19 secure campus environment in London to enable a number of locally-based EMBA students to follow their classes in person.

However, the new campus is currently closed to visitors.
