Edtech firm Instructure bought by Thoma Bravo for $2bn

In a $2 billion deal, Thoma Bravo has acquired Utah-based educational software maker Instructure, with the acquisition is expected to come in to effect in the next few months.

In December last year, private equity investment firm Thoma Bravo purchased Instructure in a cash transaction worth approximately $2 billion.

The firm predominately focuses on software and technology service sectors, and aims to assist in edtech innovation and international expansion of Instructure into its future.

UK suffering from soft skills crisis, finds Instructure report

New research from edtech company Instructure (NYSE:INST) has revealed that educators and business leaders believe UK is suffering from a soft skills crisis, threatening the productivity of UK Plc.

The Instructure Skills Study: preparing for the 2030 workplace report, which draws from a Censuswide study, shows that about 68% of secondary school teachers and 64% of businesses believe that lack the soft skills needed to be successful in the workplace.

Approximately seven in ten of all surveyed believe that soft skills for not get enough attentions in the much-publicised skills gap debate.
